Bon Jovi sings a song titled "Who Says You Can't Go Home".  I truly feel "back home", and am grateful and "beyond blessed" to serve as the principal of Carquinez Middle School. Having met my wife Kimi (maiden name Kim Yee) in Mr. Dahme's class (Room 19) in 1982, Carquinez will always have a special place in our hearts (as does John Swett High School, both of us in the "Class of 1988"). Our youngest daughter (Jazzy) will now get to experience John Swett as well (sophomore involved in cheer and band, already 23 college credits, "Class of 2022").  Our older daughter, Ariel, attends the University of Phoenix where she is majoring in Health Administration while also taking pre-requisites for the nursing program at Solano Community College. As a family, we love visiting Six Flags, watching Hawaii Five-0 and The Goldbergs, playing games, and just hanging out.  I am also a member of the American Legion, serving as a chaplain (veteran of the United States Marine Corps).

I've been very impressed by a number of students and staff thus far, and have really enjoyed getting to know Carquinez families.  We have a great district that has even more potential.  With the construction of a new school beginning soon and a number of events still to be conducted (i.e. rallies, assemblies, presentations, high school visits, etc.), it is definitely an exciting time to be a part of Carquinez Middle School and JSUSD.  Go PANTHERS!!
