My name is Mr. Young. This is my first year teaching at CMS and my 5th year as a full time teacher. Previously I taught 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade in the Mt. Diablo School District and prior to full time teaching, I was a substitute teacher in MDUSD for 3 years. I went to Diablo Valley College to get my AA in transfer studies, Sonoma State University for my BA in sociology and after working for a few years, I returned to school to get my multiple subject teaching credential from Brandman University. I was born and raised in Vallejo and come from a family of teachers.

I believe strongly in communicating with families about their students. We are using ParentSquare as our main form of communication this year. Please check this often. I will use it to post announcements to all families or send messages individually. It will also be how I set up parent-teacher conferences and notify you of homework and upcoming projects. It is also the fastest and easiest way to get a hold of me. It can be accessed from a mobile device, tablet, or a computer.
