  • 2021-2022 Registration for Rodeo Hills Expanded Learning Program (ELP)

The John Swett Unified School District is glad to announce that we will be continuing our successful Expanded Learning Program for the 2021-2022 school year. Space will be very limited in our program. Our program will continue to provide students with a safe and positive environment during the hours after-school until 6:00 pm. The program provides dinner, snacks, homework time, and enrichment time. All students are expected to participate in all activities. Expanded Learning Program DOES NOT PROVIDE TUTORING. Due to COVID, we will still need to follow guidelines more information on this will be in the letter of acceptance.

The Expanded Learning Program is funded by a state grant, in turn, there is no charge for your child to participate, but there are strict guidelines provided by the state government. There is a huge need for this program, so the attendance guidelines will be strictly enforced. Your child is expected to attend the after-school program five days a week. If your child is absent from the regular school day for an excused reason, he/she will be excused from the Expanded Learning Program. Your child is also expected to stay in the program daily until sign out which is between 5:45 pm and 6:00 pm. All students are expected to be picked up by 6:00 pm. If a parent or guardian is late, your child will be put in DAYCARE with a charge fee of $1.00 per minute. THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN WILL BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY THIS FEE. If this happens three times, your child will be dismissed from the program. We understand that sometimes being late is unavoidable, but please make arrangements for your child to be picked up on time.

Aside from attendance and pick-up, the program also has a strict discipline policy. In the Expanded Learning Program, students are expected to treat teachers and peers with respect. When a student has a discipline issue he/she may be suspended from the program. Three suspensions may lead to removal from the program. If necessary, discipline issues may be turned over to the Principal for further action.

The electronic registration form is below. Please complete all fields of the online registration form. Please fill out a registration form for each child you would like to attend the program. Please be advised that acceptance is on a first-served basis. We will be accepting registration forms starting on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.

If your child receives a spot in the program, a notification will be sent home via mail before the end of the school year. Please make sure we have your current address. Notification will include a more detailed explanation of the program policies and procedures. THE PROGRAM IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE as we may have to adapt to conditions due to Covid-19.
If your child doesn’t receive a letter of acceptance he/she will be placed on the waiting list. Any questions, please call (510) 799-4431 (ext.3521)

    Sincerely,

Sandra Aguayo Coordinator of Rodeo Hills Expanded Learning Program
