Dear John Swett Unified Community,

I am writing to express my genuine enthusiasm and commitment as your new Superintendent. I join you with over 15 years of progressive educational leadership experience, having served in roles from a Dual Immersion Teacher and Paraprofessional to a Deputy Superintendent of Educational Services. This journey has reinforced my belief that every student deserves a safe, equitable, and high-quality education that prepares them for success in college, career, and life. My career has been dedicated to creating inclusive learning environments where all students, from Pre-K through 12th grade and adult learners, thrive academically, socially, and emotionally through educational experiences tailored to their strengths and needs.

My leadership philosophy centers on empowering students to become lifelong learners and global citizens, while simultaneously supporting and inspiring the educators and staff who serve them throughout our district. I am committed to building systems that foster student success, teacher growth, and meaningful community engagement. I see a clear alignment between my passion for education and John Swett USD’s focus on lifelong learning through comprehensive Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, college preparatory pathways, strong community partnerships, and the meaningful use of technology.

I am particularly excited by John Swett USD’s dedication to providing every student with a safe, equitable, and restorative culture where all students feel a sense of belonging. I share your vision of ensuring every student has access to opportunities for personal and academic growth through a rigorous and high-quality education. Specifically, I have successfully led initiatives to expand comprehensive programs in biotechnology, Environmental Sustainability, and the arts, collaborating with organizations to create authentic learning experiences that connect students to both college preparatory and CTE pathways. My expertise also includes significant work in English Learner programs, demonstrated by my service as an appointed member of the CDE's English Language Development (ELD) Council of Experts. This work, which has secured millions of dollars, reflects my passion for innovation to support JSUSD's continued success. My commitment to equity, belonging, and inclusion has been at the heart of my leadership, which has included directing district-wide Equity Audits and facilitating the development of Strategic Plans focused on equity-centered outcomes.

I welcome the opportunity to partner with the Governing Board, educational staff, families, students, and all members of the community to ensure that every student is engaged, empowered, and fully prepared for the future.
